Update plexamp on Raspberry Pi to v3.0?

Hello. Sorry to jump in on this forum, but I can’t find anywhere to help me with an issue I’m having.

I recently moved from Windows to a rpi running raspbian. I mounted a 2tb hard drive and moved all my media onto there. After many different attempts and a rebuild of the OS, I successfully managed to get all my movies and TV shows to read and all is working brilliantly on that side. I decided to move my music that I’ve had for a long time over as well, but for some reason, plex is unable to scan the folders and comes up with nothing in the library.

The reason I decided to do this is because I’m really excited to use plexamp which seems to find my server on my android phone app, but no music. They’re all in mp3 format and there’s quite a lot of music (around 60gb). Is there something I’m missing? Would appreciate any advice.

So just to update my previous post…Woke up this morning and lo and behold, all my music was on plex! No idea how it happened, but it worked! My next query is with regards to the plexamp. I installed 2.0.0 but would like to update it. Is there a terminal command to do this or is it only available with the AppImage? Doesn’t work for me for some reason.

Thanks again. Any help would be much appreciated during this lockdown!

Plexamp for the RasPi is not available in version 3.

Thank you Otto. So the fact that my plexamp on my phone can see my plex media server, I should be all good then?

Sorry?
Plexamp is not a server.

Hi, yes I’m aware plexamp is not a server. The plexamp app on my android device can see my plex media server. So therefore that should be all good?

I guess so.
(But it still doesn’t have anything to do with running plexamp v3.0 on RasPi hardware.)

OK thanks.

So what’s the latest version that can be run on RasPi? Is there a link you could provide please?

Thanks again.

The one you already have. There was just one version of 2.0 made accessible publicly.

OK great. Cheers.
