At dinner last night I watched a show using Plex on my Roku 4k, old app, via my home server and libraries. By the time I sat down a couple of hours later it had updated the app and I completely lost access to my home server. It just says “server not available” and basically sent me here. I try accessing via the web and ios app, all looks good. Just the Roku app is broken. I’m clearly not alone. I’m happy that it’s working for you in your office. It’s not in my house. I JUST paid for the lifetime pass, and I’m now really regretting it. The UI is definitely ‘meh’, but that it’s just plain broken is infuriating.
And, as mentioned above, I have had no need for interaction with these forums until now. I had no need to, it just worked. But now it doesn’t work at all.
Can you tell me what version your server is. Do your libraries show up in the library tab at the top of screen?
I have the same issue. My libraries do show at the top.
so you get an error when you select one?
When I try to access my libraries, i can briefly see the folders on my server, then the app crashes. I can access my server via the “search” button. I can search for content on my server and view and play that content. That is my only view into the server. I have only tried this with one show that I am watching from my server.
@pgagnier65 looks like you may be running into this issue here. I say this because it looks like you have multiple server and at least one is pretty old. Do you see multiple servers listed at https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/devices/pms
I have two servers connected to my network, both are fairly old. I have a DS1019 and DS918. However, I only use the 1019 as a “media” server.
@BigWheel server version 1.42.1.10060
Server says this is the latest version.
OK thank you. When you select the library at the top do you get the same message? ( I moved this because you didn’t mention crashing which the other topic was about)
Yes, when I select at the top I get the same “server not found” whether it’s all libraries or an individual one.
I was able to see a “recently watched” list. When I selected the show, it said “no known playback sources” or something similar. That’s unlike others where they have a back way to get into their libraries.
I have a Roku Express 4k.
