as i am an owner of a readynas 104 (arm based device, Readynas 6 OS) i have problems updating the plex server. I now got it working somehow extracting the readynas 5 OS package and copying it manually. But now the plex/web client is stuck at an old version and i cant update it anymore. Can someone give me an advice how to manually update the plex/web client?
thanx. An obvious answer i didnt come across. This is good then, but...it only grabs the last plex/web client delivered with the server, right? So, beeing up to date i have to install the most current server software? But still i wont get the fresh clients delivered by you after the rollout of a new server. is that right?
i will publish this when i know its working. Until now i still have too much trouble with my nas. If i feel this working, i will share my experience with all Readynas users.
Right now i have to find out why there are errors while scanning some of my pictures. As a complete scan over all of my pictures takes about two days i'll take some more time.
One hint for now: if you are a windows user, download putty and winscp. These are my tools i work with. If you are a linux user, you need to connect from your unix desktop to the readynas device via ssh. The user for this connection is 'root'. Password is the password of your readynas admin account. Dont forget to activate the ssh service on the readynas.
I want not create new topic, so Im writing in this one. I have Plex on my rock64 SBC, running 1.15.3.876(current latest one for this architecture) and when I access web client on other devices I get web client version 3.83.1 witch is older not latest one and have bug with iOS devices… when I loggin with my PC to app.plex.tv/desktop I see that I get latest web client version witch is 3.95.1. so how update webclient for all devices? I tried look for plugins folder of plex, but its empty, not plugins.
I’m on Plex Media Server 1.15.4.919 is now available to Plex Pass users in the Beta update channel but why is my local Plex Web version still like 3 months old?
I understood that part but since I’m on the latest server, does it not include the latest web client at the point of packaging as well?
Plex Media Server 1.15.4.919 was released 9 days ago, while Plex Web 3.83.1 was released on Jan (3 months ago)
If I understood your previous posts correctly, you are saying that the way it is deployed/managed is such that Plex Web will always be (a few months) older than the latest beta?
I would have expected the latest beta to at least contain Plex Web 3.89.1 for example…
I understand that is the norm, but usually a beta version contains the latest (or at least the more recent) version of dependencies, especially if in this case some of the web features only works with the latest beta version of the server. Is there a place where I can bring this up to the devs for discussion?
