Upgrade to Server 1.41.1.9057 caused the video codec information to be removed!

Server Version: 1.41.1.9057
Client Version: Plex for Linux 1.102.0.230-7301ebfb & Dash 2.1.1

I upgraded to server 1.41.1.9057 the video codec information is missing from both Plex for Linux and Dash apps but is present via https://app.plex.tv and current android mobile app. See below:

Plex for Linux - Video reported as 720p:

app.plex.tv - Video reported as 720p (H.264):

This is an odd one as Plex for Linux and app.plex.tv should have the same underlining client code. Anyhow …

To none of my family, wouldn’t mean anything to them, looks cleaner too. I like.

BTW… outside of clients, dash and the dashboard is also missing this codec information now …

All three here are missing the original codec information and just so its not consistent its included in the transcode information in the last example.

I could maybe be convinced removing it from the clients is a good thing but certainly not from dash or the dashboard. Also, if its intentional to remove this then why does it remain for the audio ?

Just came here to post the same issue. I miss the video codec information and can’t imagine why it disappeared, so I think this is probably a regression. Please fix this, at least for Plex Dash and the server Dashboard.

Don’t know how I missed this but I’ve asked if a regression or design change.
If a change, wonder where it’s listed in the release notes.

status:

  1. Not a known change
  2. First thought is a PMS - Plex/Web mismatch (aka. BUG – haha)

I’ll start diagnosing.

If anyone can definitively provide the delineation points between PMS, Plex/web (bundled) and Plex/web (hosted – app.plex.tv), I’d appreciate it.

Thanks. I included that in my original post. The versions mentioned is when the behavior changed.

I’m tracking back now through the various builds to find where the regression occurred.

Confirmed, Ticket submitted.

Thanks for the report and help.

Is there any idea on when this will be fixed? I’m still having this issue on Plex for Windows and Mac version 1.107.2.300-7093f413 with server version 1.41.4.9463.

Found a fix for the subs issue (however my issue might’ve been unrelated).

Something about plex behind nginx and the server sending malformed headers afaict.

The fix for the missing additional video and subtitle information is available in 1.41.5.9522
