You can look up if an artist or album is listed at musicbrainz.org. That is the primary database Plex is using to match music now.
If an artist is missing, you can create an account and add it yourself or fill-in other data. But careful: sometimes they just are listed under a different artist name. So use the search first extensively, before creating duplicates!
All those artists which refuse to convert now, I’m afraid you’ll have to do the Plex Dance “light” (omit step 4)
