Upgrading Plex to Plexpass

What is the best way to upgrade my server from plex to plexpass? I’m using plex in a freenas 11 jail not the plugin.
1)Install plexpass in a new jail and follow support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201370363-Move-an-Install-to-Another-System ?
2) install plexpass in old plex jail? pkg install plexmediaserver-plexpass then uninstall old plex? Will all the data stay intact?

Plex Pass isn’t something you install, it is a subscription that enables you to configure Plex Pass only features on your server.

you just sign into your server with your account that has plexpass.

If you just bought the Plex Pass then

  1. wait a few hours
  2. shutdown Plex Server
  3. wait 5 minutes
  4. restart your Plex server device
  5. wait a few minutes
  6. restart all your plex clients as well

Keep in mind that not all Premium features are available on FreeBSD.
(Premium Music and Comskip in DVR)

in the freenas repository there are 2 different version on called plexmedia server current version 1.9.7.4460
and plexmediaserver-plexpass version 1.10.0.4516
I’ve upgrade to a plexpass and want to get the addition features like commercial removal and faster updates that are now available with the plexpass version

Commercial removal is not available on FreeBSD
FreeNAS = FreeBSD

plexpass version only means beta. plex pass users get access to beta versions of pms.

1.10 will be a public/stable version at some point.
