Upgrading with Tuners & Plex Pass

Hi, I have a general question. I just ordered 2 of the Hauppage WinTV-QuadHD tuners. My goal is to have 8 tuners at a time. For devices, we use a Roku Stick, an Xbox One, a couple Samsung S7’s, and a Roku at my office. I’ll be upgrading to Plex Pass to enable the tuner and DVR support, but my question is this - will it support the two cards? Will each device be able to use the live TV option? I saw an older blog post about only Android and iOS. I’m going to add a 1TB HD and move my music and pictures over to it to free up space for the live TV action.

See this:

Yes only Android ans IOS works right now.
Limited support for official live tv but you can use this 3rd party plugin until that point.

I have been using this for years and still waiting for official Samsung support for Live TV.
I have seen some issues with multi tuners but no show stoppers.

1TB isn’t bad depending on your provider most have been changing to H.264 for encoding so recordings are much smaller.

There is also support for ATV.

Can you elaborate which software that is? Also, does it work within Plex? The tuners came with some kind of software download, but I didn’t think it would work with Plex either.

I installed the tuners yesterday, and so far they’re only scanning and grabbing about 50 channels. We don’t pay for cable, we just use the basic that comes with our internet connection. So some channels are SD and some are HD. But there are more than 50 for sure.

Plus, with twin QuadHD tuners, the ability to only scan one at a time is slow.

Is there a limit to the number of DVR/ Tuners that can be supported? I’m trying to scan my last in of 4 and it just say’s “There’s a problem adding a new device to your DVR. Please try again.”

I believe @kegobeer-plex is saying that the Apple TV is also a supported device. From the sound of your post though, it seems that you are a predominantly Android household, so the Apple TV would be of limited use to you outside of Plex.
