Use Camera Upload without presenting photos and video to plex dashboard, etc

I was looking for options to allow upload to a library without that library being available for public view strictly just a mobile photo backup option. I realize maybe this has been asked somewhere but just can’t find it. any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

There has to be a library for Plex to use camera upload but you can just choose to not share that library with your shared users and if you want to remove it from your own dashboard you can do so by editing the library section, going to the advanced option and unselect the “Include in dashboard” checkbox.

Here are two support articles related to this:

Hope this helps!

Removing it from the dashboard only prevents the photos from showing up in On Deck, Recently Added, and global slideshows…but the library will still show up on devices signed into your account. There seems to be no way to prevent your automatic photo uploads from being view-able by anyone using the administrator’s account (say you have friends staying at your house and they are browsing Plex on your TV while you are not present)

The only solution I could think of was to create another user account and sign all my clients into that and just not share the photo uploads library with the new account…but that sucks because then you lose all your watch history. It would be nice if there was an option for the administrator to limit a library to only display in Plex Web and not on any other clients.

Another option would be to have something like FileBot monitor the library folder and automatically move the files to another folder.
