Use Infuse as video player inside Plex client…

I tolerated it for years. I thought “it’s not too bad.” But seriously… the video player inside the Apple TV app is just awful. There has been for years a sync issue and it’s different whether you are watching 4k or standard hd. I loaded up Emby… seems to play perfectly. So then I tried infuse player and guess what?!? It played PERFECTLY, too! Every file. The downside is I miss the user management that makes Plex handy for a family of different ages and interests.

Now, moving around inside the android tv app on the shield, I saw a place to specify the video player. And I thought “WHY DOESNT PLEX GIVE USERS THE ABILITY TO USE THE INFUSE PLAYBACK ENGINE???” I’d pay. Oh, for sure I’d pay. To have perfectly synchronized playback and not play the “are the voices ahead or behind the video” game with every file. I’d pay infuse. I’d pay Plex. Name the price. Take my money. But sweet Moses, fix the video player!

On this plus side for months Plex have been advertising for a senior playback engineer for Apple devices.
That vacancy is no longer on the website. So hopefully better times are on the horizon. But it’s Plex so who knows.

You can connect Infuse to your Plex library. I’ve just started using it and although the UI is not great, it seem to integrate well.
