Yes, please allow a Plex-created playlist to appear in DLNA:

This would make Plex a killer app on pretty much any receiver and media centre solution made in the last 3-5 years. Really surprised they haven’t made this work. After all the only thin you really need to do is to pretend that the file is stored in a folder with the same name as your playlist and then store all these playlist folders in a dedicated folder at the root level. Hell if you can’t do this in the code you could even do it locally assuming Plex would be allowed to create symbolic links as this is supported on both Windows, Linux and MAC.

If the issue with the DLNA playlist sharing is that playlists are currently tied to specific users you could always just add a hidden DLNA user on every account and then have that share every playlist it has access to over DLNA on any given server.

I have kind of done this already using a plugin where I copied my dynamic playlist to another account. It works and updates as it should as long as they have access to the library. If I add something they don’t have access to it still works but said songs don’t appear on their list.

Hey everyone, just thought I might light a fire under the Plex team by letting you all know that Emby does playlists over DLNA flawlessly. I just might switch for this one feature… Is there ANY update from the team on this? Seems so simple to implement…

I’m still using both Plex and Emby, but prefer using Emby. They already have the simple things like Plex over DLNA, m3u playlists, and support for other versions (Director’s cut, etc) that Plex is still lacking.

One thing I am waiting for them to add is playlist downloading for Android Mobile. you can download a playlist, but it splits it into all the separate songs rather than keeping the playlist together. I believe Plex has Emby beat there, but since I use m3u playlists, Plex doesn’t help me here either.

This needs to work with photo playlists too as a possible workaround for the lack of a slideshow in Apple clients and the resolution degradation in the Android TV plex client.

I will vote for this feature multiple times, if that’s what it takes to get it done.

Me too plex created playlists over DLNA, also being able to browse all tracks would be good as well!

Please implement this feature. I am using Plex with Wiim Mini to listen to Hi-Res music and there is no way to play randomly tracks (Tracks not available) and not even play my playlists in Plex

I support this. This feature is asked for years. Currently I have to use a second media canter (Emby) solely for this purpose.
