Currently it seems like Plex works with the Sonos home system, but not with the HEOS system. I would dearly love to see this implemented as Plex is such a wonderful web client. Plex is available on the HEOS via DLNA and the Plex Media Server feature but the PMS does not enable playlists. So when we make playlists in the Plex web client, they are not available in the HEOS app, and when we make playlists in the HEOS app, they are not available in Plex.
From my perspective, there are two ways to accomplish this: 1) As PMS already does work as a DLNA feature with HEOS, just make the playlists feature available on PMS or, more ambitiously 2) Make plex a valid music source for HEOS, alongside things like Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, etc.
This should be definitely a top priority as Denon is much more audiophile company than Sonos. Denon (Heos) gear has better hardware (amps, elements) and better connectivity.
Just finished setting up Plex Media Server on a Windows 2019 Server. Not super difficult but not a simple click and install. Was excited about many of the features. Did not even occur to me that Plex has really poor DLNA support. First my HEOS systems (Marantz and Denon) wouldn’t fined the m3u playlist. No problem I thought, Plex has these really nice automatic play lists. Well when they didn’t work my next google search brought me here.
Guess I am switching back to serviio. My only complaint with that was the album art images are served in low resolution. Guess I can live with that.
Could you vote on this feature, at least? Thanks! I may try Serviio though as well, as Enby is great, but is missing some good features with its Android integration! Please vote here!
