User login page bug

When resuming Plex and it brings up the user selection screen, there’s artifacts showing from whatever screen the previous user was on. Assuming it’s not supposed to do that?

Version 2026.16.0

I’m assuming that you were viewing this title’s detail page then what? Are you using the Home button to drop back to the Apple interface, letting the screensaver take over, paused during paused for an extended period of time, or something else? I want to say that I have seen this but I can’t easily reproduce this affect. Are you seeing this often or with a consistent pattern?

I honestly can’t get it to consistently reproduce either. However, I believe it’s probably related to a more serious issue with the login screen. If I happen to have a movie details page open that has some more “adult” content on it (for example, the background image has nudity on it), when the login page shows up, whatever was on the screen previously briefly shows before getting the login screen.

This is happening after pressing the Home button to go to the main Apple TV interface, then going back into Plex.

There shouldn’t be anything shown on the screen, even briefly, when resuming Plex and requiring a login.

And just found another more serious issue. If you have a video playing and press the home button to go back to the main Apple interface, going back into Plex resumes playing whatever was on the screen, with no prompt to re-login. This is a serious issue.

Yeah that was my concern too. But really any thing could be unacceptable depending on the person. I don’t want to assume what is or isn’t.

Thanks for digging in and reporting.

I just saw the initially reported problem of the static image displaying while on the user screen. That was actually an old old bug that fell out because it was no longer reproducible or at least the steps that were reproducible before stopped triggering it. Revived that one.

Filed an issue for the flashing previous screen while returning.

The returning to a playback session is interesting as I could see that as a preferred behavior as it is now. Regardless that’s also getting some eyes on it.

Thanks again for reporting.
