I am trying to change my username on the account tab. It will not let me have a username with a space in it. I have a friend that was able to set up his account username with a space. Am I missing something? I am just trying to use my first name (space) last name.

Plex username. The web app account tab where you can change the username.
Mine has spaces.
Maybe the name is already in use?
Since the user name can be used for login, it has to be unique among all Plex accounts.
So chances are that common names are already taken.
I dont think that is what is going on here. See attached screen shots. You can see that when I remove the underscore and add a space instead, I get the “Username contains invalid characters” text.
I am told this is a policy, which only affects new user names.
Existing user names with spaces in it are still usable. But new ones with spaces cannot be created.
