I am still in shock. I had a user in my home group whose profile appeared on Plex when I signed in - along with another 4 family members.
After send one of the users a link to confirm their email address and add them as a managed user. All of the other home profiles have disappeared. I dont understand why this would be. I sent something to them as a user, I have not changed anything about my account and now I have lost all the home users. That doesnt seem right to me.
A user with an email address cannot become a managed user.
If you meant to invite this user into your Plex Home (which does NOT make them a managed user), you might accidentally joined the Plex Home of this user instead.
Or you’ve left your own Home.
At this time, you don’t have a Plex Home and no managed users.
There is no “Undo” for this type of action. You will have to recreate your managed users.
I havent done this, but the user may have. I would say this is pretty poor if another user can affect my account. And its even poorer that it cant be undone. There should always be the means to revert.
I still think that’s off. They have had an email request sent to their email. Not my email, theirs. There’s a validation that has failed there. If my account was the primary home user - how can that change the home they were invited to as they are one and the same? All that is different is that I was going to make them a managed user via their own email log in.
I still say this is poor. Whatever way I look at it - no new home group was created. Just the action of reuqesting someone to have an email login.
