Using a VPN on Qnap with Plex Server

I have a QNAP NAS running my Plex server. That works fine. I installed a VPN on my QNAP and for the life of me I can’t get the Plex Server to run through it. When I look at my public IP address it is that of my router…Not extremely tech savy and need help!

In order to make PMS work with a VPN right now, you have to be tech savvy OR have a completely captive VPN solution. PMS is not yet capable of automatically handling the multiple adapter configuration a VPN creates (local and vpn-wan)

Who is your vpn provider? Most vpn providers don’t forward incoming ports by default. PIA for instance lets you forward a single incoming port, which you can request through their api and they assign you a random one. Not an easy task to automate to work with plex
