Using plex offline

Server Version#:
Player Version#:

I have been reading for a few hours , now my brain is melted ! how can i view my content (locally) with no internet. i miss the old days of plex. this is getting over my head!!
TIA!!!

Best bet is to use the sync function on a mobile device.

I am not familiar with that i will look into it

… a complete (Google) shot in the dark…:
https://www.howtogeek.com/303282/how-to-use-plex-media-server-without-internet-access/

The article states must do this before loosing internet , looked in to Trick Two: Use DLNA Apps as a Fallback . how do i even get my server to open ? when i open jumps right to web page and then wont open

Not sure what OS your using, but what I did on my Windows 10 Server is install Jellyfin and set that up as my offline system. It’s still a work in progress (on my and their parts) but it seemed to be my best option.
Biggest issue I have right now is the Roku support, but I’m not knocking what they have done. It’s free and doesn’t need to dial out for an account link to work.
Somethings I’m still waiting to work is…

  • Grid form OTA TV on Roku. (but they got it working with just posters for the channels)

  • Music for Roku (not available yet)

But I have it downloaded for all my android and my kids IOS devices so if we lose internet I can keep everyone entertained.

That’s how things are working for Plex - Right Now.
Server/Network: Preferred, not Required or Disabled.
All Clients: Fallback to insecure on local network only.

When the internet goes out - Those devices keep right on playing.
Plexweb is dead and all the player apps are dead, but your devices on the network keep going.
