Plex off the grid usage?

I used to be able to use Plex client to connect to a local Plex Media Server, even in the absence of an internet connection. Did this functionality get forgotten somewhere or is still there, but not obvious?

I ask since recently my internet connection was out for four days and during that period I could not use Plex to access my local media server. I needed to resort to VLC on an AppleTV to be able to watch my movies.

Many threads on this. Do a search and you’ll see what you need to do for offline viewing.

I’ll continue looking (didn’t find anything yet), but the main issue is that I have to log in before I can do anything and if my tokens expired, then I am stuck. The issue is I can’t log in if there is no internet connection.

I I can’t log in, then I can’t use Plex locally. I just tried on my iPhone all I get is a login screen.
