Using software decoders for liveTV transcodes is causing problems

  • (DVR) Added additional HW encoding settings for controlling DVR transcode output quality and file size (PM-2169)
  • (Live TV) Use software decoders for livetv transcodes in order to avoid system errors (PM-2116)

Why has Plex done this and is it a permanent change ??

My Nas (DS218+) is now failing to transcode live TV streams even for 1 single stream constantly bufferring.

I am interested in understanding this as well before applying the update.
