Using your own DNS server (Router)?

Heya all,

 

I was wondering if it would be possible and/or if someone figure out a way to not use the built in DNS server but instead use your own dns server (on router) with creating specific records? Does anyone know if this is possible and what needs to be configured? 

 

Im not talking about Apache/IIS but purely to set records or something up with a routers dns (like Cisco 2911).

Check the install guides on the wiki.

There is a walkthrough for running PlexConnect on a Tomato router and also using it for the DNS part (the latest source has advanced settings to use your own DNS and/or web servers if you know how to configure them).
