UX: Would be nice if Cmd+F worked from main menu, too

This would be a convenient usage flow for me:

  • Open Plex on my Mac
  • Hit Cmd+F to open search
  • Type the name of the thing I want to watch
  • Select it and play

But it seems the Cmd+F shortcut doesn’t work from the main menu (the one saying “Movies”, “TV shows” etc in my case). So I have to first hit arrow-right to go into “Home” or “Movies” or “TV series” before the shortcut will work.

Is there a technical reason the shortcut can’t work from the top level menu?
