Keyboards Commands for Plex for Mac

OK, so it seems at some point we are going to be forced of Plex Media Player to Plex for Mac. Not pleased about it, but willing to move on.

Currently I have a very nice little app I use for controlling PLEX, and all the assigned keyboard commands work in Plex Media Player.

Now that I have installed Plex for Mac, SOME, not all do not work and I cannot find where the new keyboard shortcuts are for Plex for Mac.

I know where the old ones are, but it now seems they are outdated. Can someone point me in the right direction with to these or do they not exist.

There are no navigation shortcuts if that is what you mean. It does not have a TV mode. Which are you trying to do?

most are in the user menu on top right (your avatar). There are a couple that need to update in taht menu like full screen. which are listed here https://support.plex.tv/articles/configuration-and-usage-options/#toc-1

Hi, appreciate the reply. I like to watch my shows on my iMac in full screen mode, all of this is very easy using the PMP. Even when launching from the dock icon, I immediately go full screen and can utilise just the arrow keys and space bar to do all I want.

However, if I use PFM, and utilising an example, Plex opens up not in full screen mode but windowed, I then have use Cmd>Ctrl>F to go full screen. Then, if I wish to watch an episode it presents itself in this tiny thumbnail in the lower left corner. Granted, I can utilise the chevron icon within the image to go full screen. Why can’t the selected episode automatically go full screen, it is not like I want to watch it the size of a postage stamp.

Anyway, it is not like I can change the direction the company is heading.

Oh, and one other thing, you seem very familiar with Plex for Mac, I notice in the top right what appears to be a screen icon with a wifi signal. When I select it, it says “No Players Found”. Can you tell me what player is it actually looking for???. Is it a Apple TV, an iPad, a specific media player like VLC or Movist. Not sure what should be here.

Thanks.

Another compatible device to “cast” to.

Plex is going to continue to support PMP in TV mode for the foreseeable future; they have in fact just recently released a preview version, v3.0.

Excellent, good to hear. As for your comment, any compatible device. As an example, what ones are these. I have iPads, Apple TV 4K on the network, nothing shows up. So are these not compatible OR I just have some setting I need to adjust.

Thanks

Other plex apps that are supported have to be open already. and the Plex app itself has to have “advertise as player” enabled in its settings.
