I had this started in the "plugin tutorial" thread. but didnt realize that after it was done, the title wouldnt fit the app.
so here it is. Not sure if anyone is familiar with Vice, but its an alternative magazine, or a "younger" ( not children ) style of looking at media, and whats going on in the world
check it out, they have great documentaries, all free online. so I thought it would be a great addition to Plex.
I suggest watching the "vice guide to Liberia" the one without a number as its all combined..... it will blow you away
and to explain the “wont play if it has ads” issue.
so some videos werent playing, they would load the player, spin the apple loading wheel. then kick you back to the menu.
where some videos would play fine. well some investigation, found that videos with ad’s were not playing. not sure why.
i checked over the site config and found that the Url was pointing to vbs.tv/. which is the Url for the site. but not for the videos.
so i changed it to vbs.tv/shows/labels/all, which is the Url for all the shows. where the links are coming from. that didnt work either, well it actually STOPPEd the player from working all together.
I changed it to vbs.tv/watch, as thats the Url the Video stream is coming from. not sure if there is some redirect madness going on that causes it to drop the stream. but its working now.
so maybe that will help someone else having that problem.
