And I hit refresh to make sure my wishes are respected, and imagine my surprise that there is no verification on my opt-out. Almost like a trendline is forming by plex, inc on never respecting privacy.
Lots of folks in /r/plex are seeing it as well. They are using far more colorful language than I am, but wanted to make sure plex FTEs saw their opt-out is “magically” not working. Almost as designed.
Which browser are you using? Seems like neither options is selected in the second screenshot.
when either yes or no should be afaik. Using any browser extensions that like add blocker or something that may affect web pages?
Chrome: Version 119.0.6045.200 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Agreed, I’m just hoping this is a simple web dev fix. Ultimately, there should be a single page of consolidated privacy settings for a plex account, but that’s a larger issue. Small battles first.
Nope- just chrome. One thing to note in /r/plex, there was a user using firefox that had my same problem and another user using chrome that did not have my problem. Safari also appears to be working as planned.
The fix I was referring to was it not saving the choices for some folks. I don’t think we could fix it if specific ad blockers remove that element from the page but I will ask about it.
Is there a way to request the deletion of previously stored data that these vendors have? My account is several years old and some of these other companies store it for over a year. I just found this well hidden page an updated my settings and Im cleaning house after this discover together thing.
