  1. Go back to an older version of the database: Restore a Database Backed Up via 'Scheduled Tasks' | Plex Support
Give it several minutes after the first startup after that to perform database conversions.
  2. If 1) fails, perform a manual database repair. Try older database backups as well: Repair a Corrupted Database | Plex Support
Again, allow several minutes after startup to perform database conversion. Don’t interrupt this process!

hi there
I had the exact same problem after updating to 1.27.0.5849 in Windows.

I was able to solve it like this:

  • Uninstall Plex Media Server 1.27.0.5849
  • Reinstall the previous version 1.26.2.5797 (you can find it in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server)

After the database was restored (approx. 5 minutes) everything was fine again.

Exact same screen, decimated my libraries.

What if I don’t have a backup of my databases? Will going back to the older version of Plex Media Server work or di I need to have my old DB copy?

in my case it worked without backup. Simply uninstall 1.27.0.5849 via Windows and install 1.26.2.5797.

Then everything was back for me. But I can’t say if it always works that way.

That seems to have worked…Woohoo!!! Thanks for the suggestion.

I am having the same issue. I removed that version and reinstalled 1.26.2.5797. All was good. The server then automatically reinstalled 1.27. I have done another rollback to 1.26, however now it only shows my Recently Added Movies, but no Currently watching or Recently added TV Shows.

I have tried repairing the database and this is what I get:

To everyone above, Ill be you have database corruption issues.

@shiloh100 the PRAGMA integrity_check does not fix the database, it just checks for corruption. in your case it has flagged problems. See Repair a Corrupted Database | Plex Support

If anyone is still having issues please post your server logs

I was thinking that I have corruption issues. Here is what I see when I go through the repair process.

Plex Media Server Logs_2022-06-01_20-54-50.zip (4.1 MB)

Here are the logs.

Hate to say this, but you enabled verbose logging and those logs are pretty much unusable. Can you revert back to debug logging and try again?

That first command with the .recover may have fixed your issue. I cant tell though with these logs.

@dbirch - thank you for your assitance. Here is the debug log…

Plex Media Server Logs_2022-06-02_08-48-46.zip (3.7 MB)

I also ran another check for corruption and it comes back and says OK.

Any change to the logging level requires a server restart, having said that there are no corruption messages in the log. Is the server(1.27.0.5849) still showing with ! errors.

had the same. downgrade to 1.26.2.5797 worked. Everything back again

I am running 1.26.2.5797. It seems like the corruption has been cleared up, but looking at the home screen is missing the Recently Added TV Shows and Continue Watching. I can access the Movies and TV Shows from the left menu without issue.

None of your logs show when you were on 1.27.0.

That could be because I think that I cleared the logs.

I tried upgrading to 1.27 and everything came back. Tested playing and everything seems to be working correctly. Thank you for everyone’s help with this.

@pl_5309 @alizi after upgrading can you post logs? or run a PRAGMA integrity_check and see if it gives any messages?
