I just did an update a couple hours ago. I can get into my plex using a web browser and all my devices, but I can’t using the “open Plex” in the system tray. It gives me 404 Not found. I have even tried to use the Servers Ip address and also localhost. All come up the same. I have been using Plex for over 10 years and this is a first issue I haven’t been able to find a solution for after doing some Googling.. I’ve spent a few hours and can’t seem to find a solution. Any help is greatly appreciated. PS: I have also rebooted the PC twice, and the spp is indeed in the system tray and running
Update,
I went and reinstalled the previous version Version 1.41.6.9606 and things are back to normal. Is this an issue with this release, or am I the only one that had, has, this issue with the update ?
I’m having a similar issue (I think). I run two servers (one primary and a backup on a separate machine). I updated them both this weekend. I noticed this evening that only the primary was visible via plex.tv. Plex app showed only the primary though plexAMP showed both correctly. I relaunched Plex media server on the backup and saw that that remote share was disabled (I had previously enabled it). I renabled it, refreshed plex.tv, and got a “404, this page may have been deleted” error from the primary server. Only the backup was available. I restarted plex media server on the primary, remote sharing was now disabled, I re-enabled, then only the primary server was available (across all apps at this point).
Attempting a rollback now to see if that fixes the issue.
Lyrics are broken since the 1.41.6.9606 upgrade as well with 404. Unfortunately I tried all previous version 1.41.5, 1.41.4, 1.41.3 for which I still have the .deb but it didn’t solve the issue. So I guess it must have changed something in the DB.
The lyrics stream proposed in the XML are all returning 404…
I got a similar issue, after a re-install, and they said to go to your Program files for plex in the "C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex Media Server", and find the “Plug-ins-nnnnnnnn” (changes slightly), if it is in the parent folder, move it to the “Resources” sub-folder, so it’s like "C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex Media Server\Resources\Plug-ins-nnnnnnnn".
When I was looking for a fix , I ran across a thread somewhere that mentioned this exact thing. Unfortunately, for me, I didn’t have the plug-ins-xxxxx in the wrong folder. So that wasn’t the issue. I reinstalled the previous version and I was back to normal. Thanks for your reply.
I’ve wanted to try doing that, but haven’t been able to find a previous version to DL, where did you find yours?
I found mine in my Main (c)/Users/(my name)/AppData/Plex Media Server/Updates folder
Hopefully you have a previously installed version there like I did. Good luck.
Unfortunately mine are in the correct folder :
/usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Resources/Plug-ins-d301f511a/
And I already tried rolling back to several previous versions without success…
Letic, Sorry to hear that rolling back didn’t work for you. I know that it really bothered me before I was able to get things working again.
I hope with a new update things will be fixed.
It’s hard to believe more people haven’t been affected by the same problem.
I just downloaded and installed Version 1.41.7.9749 onto my rolledback version 1.41.6.9606 and everything still seems to be working fine. Maybe there was a glitch with 1.41.6.9685, not sure but fingers crossed everything keeps working smoothly. Happy Trails

resolved for me! Thanks very much
Well i just updated to the newest version today on both my NAS and they both stopped working, I was able to find one old BIN file for a the WD PR4100 but not the WD PR2100 , the PR4100 now works what to do now?
same thing happen to me yesterday with 1.41.7.9799 lost server connection could not restore had to go back a version. I have a wd pr4100
Ran update PlexMediaServer-1.41.7.9799-5bce000f7-MyCloudPR4100_OS5 I lost Plex App access to my WD4100. I found that the update turned off the Plex App in the WD NAS Apps I switch it back on and had access. My daughter had the same issue with her WD2100. I hope this helps others because I spent lots of time looking at my network connection. Never had this happen before.
For the last week or so I’ve also been having a problem where it just won’t connect? I can’t even connect on local by launching the interface from my HTPC. It says it can’t find the media server which is insane. It seems to run for a few minutes and then fails and stops showing up. I rebooted my HTPC about 3 times yesterday to try and finish a 25 minute episode. I’ll have to try rolling back to a previous update and see if that fixes it because this is infuriating.
I do have the same thing when I directly access the exposed endpoint (through ip:port/web), I just receive that 404 Not Found page and result.
Thank you for catching this as this was the solution for me. I had been doing the updates and ever since mid April each update would cause library not to show up. With your suggestion I checked and sure enough the manual update process was leaving the WD NAS app switched to off. I am now fully up to date and wanted to say thanks.
