I had not used my Fire HD Tablet in months, I updated Plex to the latest and now Plex has extremely low volume on movie playback. I have set audio boost to huge and still no volume. Amazon prime video works fine
This was not and issue in the past and I have had the Tablet for 2 years. Is this a bug or does anyone have a suggestion to troubleshoot this issue?
You are not the only one whoās experiencing this issue. It has been reported multiple times before and yet thereās still no resolution.
The only workaround for now is:
Install a video player on your Fire HD (I installed VLC)
In Plex on your Fire HD go to Settings -> Advanced -> Player and select āUse external playerā.
Next time you try to play a video from start it will ask you which player you want to use (select the player you had installed in step 1) and whether you wanna do it once or all the time.
The issue had been reported in February, 2018. It has been over 2 years now and itās still not resolved - I wouldnāt keep my hopes for resolution high
Iāve got the same issue, plex server on nvidia shield streaming to android on Samsung galaxy tab. Very quiet audio on movies, music seems ok. Using VLC as external player has helped a lot. Thanks for the tip.
I found a new setting in FireTV 4K Stick Audio Options (FireTV - Not Plex):
Settings/Display & Sounds/Advanced
Volume Leveler is horrid - canāt hear anything.
Dialog Enhancer - isnāt horrid - canāt tell itās doing anything, but I left it on.
The Audio I have set to Always Dolby Digital - thatās all I have, so you guys may need something else.
Thatās the only way I could get Plex Audio back up to where it was.
Then - thereās this:
When you start to play something in Plex, itās very quiet for a while - then snaps in during a scene change to what is way too loud - since you turned the volume up during itās āquiet phaseā.
