Everything seemed to be fine until I actually played a TV Show. About 4-5 minutes in, the video is automatically dropped into the background and I'm left looking at the PlexHT home screen. The sound is still playing as if I'd minimized it, but I hadn't. From what I can find using the Plex remote, there's no way to maximize the video again, so in the end I had to restart the show and jump forward to where I left off.
Except 4-5 mins later, it did it again. 3 times in total before I gave up. So now I'm wondering if this is a bug (I think PlexHT for Linux is still in development, so granted it could be buggy...)
Anyone else see this at all?
In the absence of anyone being able to recreate it, does anyone know if you can re-maximize a video using the Plex remote once it's been minimized?
I just upgraded OpenELEC (Plex Version, obviously) to OpenELEC-Plex-Fusion-3.2.4-106-Plex-Home-Theater-1.0.13-ff02901.x86_64 and started having this happen to me also. It would play fine on about 2 videos, but this would happen to about 5 others that I tried until I gave up and went to sleep. After a few minutes the sound would get choppy and start to lag, at that point I would just stop it.
I couldn't even get the PPA version to not crash. I compiled from source using the github instructions and now I'm intermittently experiencing the exact same thing. Some episodes play fine for the entire duration while others after 5 minutes continue playing but I'm looking at the Plex menu.
I have found that pausing the episode and resuming it sometimes sorts it out. I'm hoping to spend some more time with debug logging enabled to see if I can identify what is actually causing it, but I agree with you both that this is currently a bug.
All the times it happened to me, it *did* come from casting a video from the Android app, so is (hopefully) related. Will wait for the next update and see what happens...
Interesting that you mention this because the times it was happening to me too, I was also casting shows from my Note 3 to my OpenELEC box. I have an IR remote attached to the OpenELEC box so one night it hypothesized that maybe the app was causing the problem and played a show with the remote....but I fell asleep before I could find out. Knowing this now, I'll give it a try tonight.
