Video files metadata being exchanged for something else

Server Version#: 4.59.2
Player Version#:Whatever comes with the plex server software.

Here’s the problem, I was trying to add some video files mostly MP4, as TV series, I do know how to add files and and follow the naming syntax, I’ve had plex running for some years now, and it’s been constantly updated, and 've successfully added files before, but now, for some reason, when I add video files following the same procedures I have followed for a few years, the file scan always mistakes the files for something else entirely different, I’ve been trying to add Law and Order SVU seasons, but when the server does a scan the metadata is found to be something called ‘Privileged’ and showing 5 seasons of it with descriptions that have nothing to do with Law and Order SVU.

how is that? (folder structure too).

Mp4s can have embedded metadata causing issues if you have prefer local metadata enabled

Should be able to just do a fix match. (assuming no embedded metadata)

Linux directories:-

/videos/‘Law and Order SVU’/‘Season 1’

File names:-

‘Law and Order SVU-S01E01’.mp4
‘Law and Order SVU-S01E02’.mp4
etc etc etc

The quotes have to be used when creating a Linux directory and using file names with spaces. It’s been working this way for years.

I used the same format for ‘The Twilight Zone’

/videos/‘The Twilight Zone’/‘Season 1’
‘The Twilight Zone-S01E01’.mp4
etc etc

And that works fine.

But seeing as I can’t attach a screenshot, this is the link to the image on my Google drive, as you can see the left image is not what is should be, in fact it shouldn’t be there, at all, and the right image should show 8 episodes not 5.

The forgotten shouldn’t be there at all.

ADDENDUM
I even tried Emby, and it too can’t get the right metadata, so it seems that where I got the videos from have an embedded system that prevents them from being used on a streaming server, so, this problem can be closed as ‘solved’ I’ll just not use videos that the correct metadata can’t be detected.
