Hi,
I’m trying to add the BBC version of Father Brown to my library and I’m failing to see the metadata. My structure is as follows:
TV Shows > Father Brown (2013) > Season 08
Then each episode is called:
Father Brown - s08e01.mp4
Father Brown - s08e02.mp4
etc
I’ve looked here and my structure seems to match. I’m OK with other TV series.
https://thetvdb.com/series/father-brown-2013/seasons/official/8
Thanks
Peter Jones
since that is an MP4 it might have incorrect embedded metadata. i would go to your agent settings and move Local Media below TVDB in the agent settings then refresh

Hi, thanks for the quick reply. Just tried that and for some reason it did not work. Would you be able to share your folder structure for Father Brown? Thank you.
Here’s mine:
My files are .m4v or .mp4 and have the metadata embedded
Thank you. So you don’t need a folder for each season?
Yeah I have all tv shows that way.
You shouldn’t have to actually have to have the name of the episode for Plex to scan it. It should actually match up with Father Brown (2013) - s05e02 and that’s good enough. There are times that tvdb is down and it won’t match so it doesn’t have to always be your file issue, say In the case of working with mkv files. But if you are working with m4v or mp4 then internal metadata may be the cause of why when Plex scans, tvdb won’t match it.
How exactly is it showing? If not embedded metadata then I would try a Fix Match/Match or make sure that you are not using the show folder here in the edit window for the library it should just be the main tv folder. In my image you can see I end the path at testtv
