@daniel.cull @benjaminwolf
I´m sharing with you the links to the files on which I have problems so someone else can test it.
Sorry it took so much but they were big files
how long after starting playback on average does it take before it crashes?

It’s immediately, the playback never starts

ah ok
i not testing on a Pi as dont have one, im testing those files on windows openpht, i want to see if it does the same thing as you describe, if it did that would be interesting
all 3 videos playback normally so far
i watched one of the BTTF for 40 mins, the other one played fine for a minute, and currently playing DoJ, these are all fine
Yes, that’s what its weird. I couldn’t reproduce the error on other viewers. Seems like it needs a combination of factors to be triggered
i cant fault those files playback wise
what OS is your PMS running on?
is there anything unique or unusual about your general setup with PMS/Rasplex etc that might help narrow this down?
There’s nothing unique that I can think about, just those videos and rasplex. The main server is a Windows server 2008 64, the test server was a win7 32 bits, plus an ubuntu. Server and client where on the same plan. Even the main language was different between them. But the windows pms had in common that they work under a policy of active directory
I have not been able to recreate the issue on a freshly imaged rPi3 running OpenPHT 1.8.148 with PMS 1.4.4.3495. My PMS servers are running on 2012 R2 and Windows 10. This is a head scratcher.
Are any of the PMS installs you tried on ‘clean’? You’re not performing database syncs or anything right? And have you tested on clean rPi images?
If it took down your Ubuntu server as well, then it must not be a PMS OS specific dependency. Are these virtual servers?
Well, I haven’t tried on a clean server on windows, but the linux server didnt exist before that. I guess I could try that on my test server, a database issue its my biggest fear as it would be very hard to rebuild some of the stuff I have.
Yes, I tried a fresh install on a new SD and it crashed, it did work on your server but Im afraid that if it was any level of transcoding it wont crash it.
good call @daniel.cull about trying openPHT, I can also tell that this bug is present on all versions of openPHT but I cant seem to reproduce it in windows 7 if the server an the client are on the same machine
Well, it seems at least on windows that it could be some kind of database issue, probably has to do with the progressive updates or something like that.
I made a clean install and it seems to run fine, but why it wasn´t present if it was played from localhost with openPHT? I can´t understand it

There was a change in PMS with how it treated remote and local clients in prep for streaming brain. Is the rPi subnet listed in the PMS local network list?

No, sorry
that didnt work
A clean PMS or OpenPHT install?

forcing PMS to see that ip as local
OK, Im finally noticing some paterns as I was able to play with some files.
This doesn’t happens in all videos, it just happens in some (I can upload a 30 sec example)
For the bug to happen it needs to have an audio and a subtitle track (it could be embebed into the file or not, it doesnt matter)
Your player needs to start the stream with an audio and a subtitle track chosen. If you start the stream without subtitles you can activate them later and it wont crash the server
Its still present on the latest version of PMS on linux and windows
Seems like something its broken in how PMS and Rasplex stream these data
here is a link to a file to test it in your server
