Video is jumping backwards

Server Version#: 1.19.1.2645
Player Version#: 2.15

I know my server OS isn’t officially supported (plan on dumping Mint 19.3 and switching to pure Debian 10 this weekend) but I’ve noticed this twice now since upgrading from server 1.16 to 1.19. (Same version of the Apple TV client (2.15)) so I don’t think the Apple TV is to blame.)

A week or so ago, I was watching a movie (Take Shelter) and about 3/4 of the way in, it jumped back like 30+ minutes.

Last night, was watching Westworld and about 1/4 of the way into the episode, the video jumped back about 5 or 10 minutes.

The only thing that’s changed is the server version. What would cause that?

As long as you’re running Mint, there’s no reason to spend time debugging it.

  1. Mint is unstable as heck
  2. Mint isn’t supported for that reason.

@ChuckPa Howdy sir… I moved my Plex server to Debian 10 a few weeks ago and the problem persisted.

Please verify DEBUG , not VERBOSE, logging
start the playback,
As soon as it jumps back, count to 10
then stop
wait 20 seconds
Download the logs
attach the ZIP

@ChuckPa

It’s weird, from one of my Apple TVs, I can resume playback perfectly fine. From the other one, not so much.

Attaching the requested logs from the server and client.

You logs show:

  1. Error delivering play information to Tract.tv
  2. The remote playback device (74.133.x.x) is closing playback abruptly.

I’m seeing a lot of different things playing and stopping after a few seconds.

Which should I be looking at?

Crap… Chuck, I’m super sorry but I got my threads confused!!! Since upgrading to the latest server version (and switching to pure Debian   ), I haven’t seen this problem return. My last few replies in THIS thread… I thought I was commenting in this one:

The logs I uploaded were meant for the ‘wheel of death trying to resume a movie’ thread. :frowning: Sooooo sorry!!

Good news though… I went back to that thread and followed Sergios’s advice and the problem has been resolved!!! Again, terribly sorry for the mix up and wasting your time!!! :frowning:
