I have this working fine now as a single Video to play before the movie starts. Is it possible to have a Playlist instead of just a single video. I would like my DTS:X, Atmos, THX and other demo videos to play before my custom video and then the movie begins as in a commercial Theater. That would be incredible if this can be done.
Nope, that won’t work. If you want to play the sand videos every time, why not just combine them into 1 video.
I couldn’t figure out a way to combine them when they are different video and audio formats. The resulting video stripped the DTS:X and Atmos from the video. I guess I will need a pro to combine them and preserve all originals as it’s over my head. Using a playlist would have been perfect though in addition to single files.
You can’t combine a file with different audio/video codecs. You would need to re-encode them to a single one.

That’s what I’m trying to avoid and why I would like the ability to use a playlist as the pre-roll video. Then I could play what I want in the order I want before the movie begins. Why this isn’t possible right now is beyond me. It just makes sense. I sure hope they add this ability soon.
It’s not possible because PMS only expects 1 file and I don’t know if anyone has ever asked to use more than 1 pre-roll. I’ve seen people ask to do a random one, but not multiple. Worth making a feature request.
I suggested something similar.
Hehe. That thread was what I was thinking of when I said " I’ve seen people ask to do a random one".
