First of all, I would like all the devs to know that Plex truly is awesome.
I have been a XBMC user for many years but for differents reasons, including the WAF who always manages to crash evrything when I'm in a foreign country and she's at home watching her shows, I switched to PLEX recently.
What a piece of software! I remember when I had to chose between PLEX and XBMC that it looked like an amateur project. You guys have worked so hard, congrats!
PLEX does almost I want it to do the way I want it do it (some stuff disappoint but it's nothing I can't live with) however, there is one thing I trully don't understand; what's considered a functionality more than a feature on every single music/video player is missing or is missing half way: playlists.
I am well aware of the queue functionality but that's all but instinctive or natural.
If I decide to put some Friends in the background while cleaning the house, I don't want to have to switch episode every 25 minutes and I surely don't want to even bother to try to queue stuff as I might change my mind regarding the background show. Same if I feel like having a season marathon of a show or decide that I want to fall asleep to some Poirot.
I understand I could but I don't want to and my wife doesn't understand at all. Especially since I told her that PLEX would solve all her problems.
Now what I find really funny is that it looks like it's built it but disabled. As PLEX is based on XBMC, I noticed that you get the exact same error message if while playing an episode of a season you push next on your remote as if you had playlists disabled in XBMC and pushed on next: something like "couldn't find next item in playlist".
If the error message is there, surely the corresponding code is there too otherwise why would you send an error mentioning a playlist.
I understand that the error message class is surely one borrowed from xbmc and maybe it hasn't been cleaned and thi specific item hasn't been removed but the fact that the remote mapping is here, that the error message mentions a playlist makes me think that the code is actually there but that the option has been disabled by choice (???) or omission.
If this is by choice, could we get an explanation as to why? This is the only thing that irritates me every single time I use PLEX.
While I understand that being a plex pass user doesn't give me the right to an answer, I would really love one.
