Does anyone know if one has to enable “Enable video preview thumbnails” in library settings in order to utilize video thumbnails with the new enhanced video player, or are they generated on the fly?

Right now no video preview thumbnails show up for me when using the new player.
All my video files are remuxed .m4v (using iFlicks) and show the thumbnails just fine with the standard tvOS-player.
It would be a huge step back if i’ll have to generate the thumbnails with PMS first and waste CPU power and disk space when for example Infuse can generate the thumbs on the fly.
Hope this is going to be implemented in the new player.
