Can the local assets agent read metadata from a video file with no audio track?

Just tested it, yes it does find it. Granted, I'm not sure what tags it's expecting to find or use.
I can confirm it does not use the embedded tags. I made a official issue report in their tracker, with your other thread that has logs for reference. I do not know when it might be resolved.
I use MetaZ on OSX all the time so i know ones with audio do pick up tags fine
