For several days now, some videos have had poor sound quality. The result is that the sound is too low, as if the people were suffering from a cold.
This happens in Edge and Google Chrome.
I don’t have this problem with other browsers.
I clicked on ‘Use an alternative streaming protocol for video playback’, but it didn’t change anything.
Can you help me?
Thank you.
Settings - ‘Show Advanced’ - Plex Web - Player
experiment with toggling
“Normalize Multi-channel Audio”
and
“Force multi-channel audio support”
independently from each other.
Do also check the position of the volume slider during playback.
If the Browser is running on Windows, check the sound settings of Windows itself. Particularly the settings of the individual sound interface, (Avanced Settings) where you can define the default sample rate, and additional processing like Room Correction or Volume levelling etc.
Also Windows has a volume mixer that allow volume to be adjusted on an app-by-app basis outside the app’s own volume controls (right-click the volume in the System Tray → Open Volume mixer):
The master volume slider sets the “top” volume and will pull the linked volumes with it. If something has been changed it will increase/decrease relative to the master level.
So even when I had the Plex app’s volume at full volume I was able to quiet it separate of the system volume setting being changed.
thank you
