Hey there. I ve never seen a forum post in regard to this software so I thought I’d just raise awareness. Voice Control for Plex is an Android app that does what it says. You can cast videos and music directly to Plex for roku, android, PHT, and Chromecast (in app purchise for chromecast) using a home screen shortcut. The app also includes a tasker project that in conjunction with utter or auto voice will provide Google now integration. I’ve been using it for a awhile and it works splendidly. I definitely recommend people try it out if you own an android device.
I agree, it is a great app. But I have my own AI front end, so I am wondering if I can send a text stream (I’ve already figured out the intent of voice input in my app) to Voice Control for Plex???
I’m honestly not sure. But I would guess it’s possible. You may want to take a look at the Tasker profile provided with the voice control for Plex. That’s what I use to pass Google now voice commands to Voice for Plex.
wouldnt it be better to try and come up with something that is compatible with either amazon echo, or home assistant?
has anyone messed with this at all? i am very interested in doing this. since i have been setting home home automation. i would love to be able to tell echo to turn on my xbox, go to plex and watch a movie of my choosing, before i even sit down on the couch. I have only just started to look into how home assistant works. but either through that or iftt, or harmony hub, there has to be some kind of connection to using voice commands in plex. i shall pray to the plex gods tonight
