Voice Search within Plex is now Broken on FireTV Cube

Today I tried to use voice search within Plex. The search interface is new, and the Plex app doesn’t appear to be affected by the FireTV voice functionality anymore.

Last time I used voice search, I got the old search interface. Initially clicking “Search” pulled up a dialogue, I’d select the search bar and click the interact button on the remote, it would bring up another search dialogue with virtual keyboard etc., and I could then press the voice search button, and what I spoke would then appear in the search box as if I had typed it. (Note, if I tried using voice search when this second search dialogue was not present, it would take me out of plex and find whatever I’d spoken elsewhere, NOT what I wanted, but I understood that, and everything worked fine. It’s SO VERY MUCH quicker and more convenient to be able to voice search than to have to navigate a virtual keyboard to painstakingly enter text!)

Now, I go straight to a new search dialogue. Hitting voice search, whatever I speak, I hear the FireTV cube say “Searching _____ within Plex”, but then nothing happens. The new search functionality excludes voice entry entirely.

PLEASE FIX THIS! It worked PERFECTLY before. Now it doesn’t work at all.

(Replying to add that I just noticed a server update is available, am updating and will see if anything changes, though this seems pretty firmly a client-side issue)

New server version will be: 1.25.9.5721

…as expected no change, still broken.

Really, nothing at all?

Once the search screen is up, click on the settings icon, select keyboard and enable “use system keyboard”.

Sure. I thought the same thing myself when I first saw it late one night. The next day I was able to find how to make it work as I wanted again.
