I use it a lot with VLC. Am i doing it wrong? I just set it to “huge” and no change
The boost option only applies if the audio is being transcoded from surround to stereo. Is that happening in your case?
Nope. Any chance we could get a volume booster in the player?
There are no plans to add that.
Would be good with TV apps
The TV apps have 0 control over the volume. The only way would be to transcode the audio to raise the gain, which means no more direct play.
