Volume control?

Hi,

We’re currently running Plex on our PS3, which works like a charm, besides that we can’t control the volume. Since we have an old amp this means we have to get up to control the volume. We’ve been contemplating buying a PS4 and moving all of our streaming to Plex, but this would be a pretty big drawback. Could anyone let me know if it is possible to control the volume from the companion app or Playstation controller when streaming on a PS4?

I just gave it a try. There is no way to control the volume from the controller ór the Plex settings. As far as i know the Companion app is headset-related so won’t be any help in your particular situation either. You could try a Raspberry Pi running KODI. It won’t break the bank and I believe it has it’s own volume-control in cases where it can’t access a device’s volume control over HDMI.
