Want to share some libraries....

What’s the difference of sharing some libraries when HOME is selected and then when FRIENDS are selected? If I select HOME, I see my Dad there but then if I click on FRIENDS I see my Dad in there also. So he’s actually in the HOME section and the friends area both? Is there a reason for this? Redundant, no?

If your Dad has his own Plex account and then you added his Plex account name to HOME, he will be in both. This is because he is free-standing on his own.

If he didn’t have a Plex account prior, you could have created a HOME (as in “Home only”) account to use within your control, validated only by your machine, and he would not be in Friends.

Think of the scenario when managing how you want content (such as G and PG-13 only) to be accessed by certain members of your family within the house and you don’t want them to sync that content. This is primarily what Home provides. You give access, just as you do friends, BUT you can add any of a number of restrictions, including but not limited to age ratings.
