Wanted to share a trick i figured out with the 100 episode issue

so I managed to hit over 100 EP on a show on my server, well i looked up the issue and to me it didn’t seem to answer my question, i had a similar experience so i figured i try to see if it fixes the 100 EP limit and it did

what ever season you have that has more then 100 EP, just make a folder in the season folder, i guess you can name it what ever you like, so far just avoid numbering the folder. i named one called episodes and dropped EP100 - EP175 and it showed all the episodes in that season. so i guess plex can only see 100 files in one folder structure at a time

I don’t believe that there is a 100 episode limit when using the recommended file naming scheme.

Can you share some examples of your file names?

I have S01E001.mp4 through S01E166.mp4 in one directory, and all 166 episodes appear.

yes, i did what i googled and none worked, tried sxxepxx tried leaving the numbers i tried epxx i tried sxxxexx etc. i wasnt asking for help on here and saw others had this issues with only some success but is with 3rd party apps., heres my setup tho if your interested

oops i didn’t meant to hit the 3rd X on the season part, was suppose to be in EP, i think i did sXXeXXX but i can try again to make sure it didn’t slip my mind

According to your screenshot from above you used ep instead as a prefix for the episode number.

If Plex had already scanned/added those files you might need to follow the Plex Dance procedure to make sure Plex applies the change.

There’s no 100 episode limit I have all kinds of shows in the 9999 range. It works fine.

I have 365 episodes of Family Guy. No limit I’ve ever seen.
