I’ll caveat this thread by saying this maybe resolved by the time they roll this app out but in case they don’t I wanted to start this thread for awareness to the community!
With all the online cloud content disabled on your account, including the discover social stuff, various aspects of these online hostings from plex are displayed/presented within the Plex Experience Preview app. Here are the examples:
- When you open the app, on the top bar the Watchlist icon is present and can be selected opening up a list of items to be added to your Watchlist. The existing android app has this icon hidden.
- Selecting the search icon, opens up a Popular Searches list which is driven by their cloud discover content. Using the same icon on the existing client does not display this content.
- Under your profiles and services you are presented with a list of services to enable. Again, same item under Choose Stream Services on the current client has an empty list.
I’ve also noticed during some initial testing that the app will not connect locally to my plex server during a simulated internet outage. The existing app connected fine based on how I have setup my server to allow connections without authentication. More testing is needed to confirm this.
If there are other aspects I’ve missed then please add it to the thread.
Lets hope these will be resolved by roll-out and I’ll be keeping an eye on them as new builds become available.
