I’ve always had this issue with Plex DVR, but finally have the time to capture it and ask for help. We regularly time shift live programs. We’ll let it record for about 20 minutes, then want to “Watch from start.” However, when we do this, it does take us to the beginning of the show, but it loops the first several seconds over and over and over. It never progresses. Our only alternative is to “Watch live” and then rewind to the start.
The “Watch live” and then rewind to start is a mess. It’s extremely difficult to rewind to the beginning. There is no indication on where you are at in the video. Not to mention that doing this on a competition show (sports, reality), spoilers could be seen while trying to rewind to beginning.
I’ve only seen this on FireTV (as that is where I watch Live TV/DVR). Here is a video I captured of the behavior:

Also, “Watch from start” does not mean the start of the recording. It means the start of the time the program is to air. For example, Big Brother was on at 7:00pm, however I have the DVR set to record 3 minutes early. When you “Watch from start,” it begins showing you the recording from 7:00pm, not 6:57pm. This cuts off 10-15 seconds of the program because they ALWAYS start early. Can’t Plex DVR show the beginning of the recording while honoring the recording schedule, instead of relying on the program guide as the “start” time?
