No, keep them like that. It’s the default and should be no issue.
That can be a problem. It is generally recommended to keep at least the server (and the NAS, if there is one) on all-wired connections. Otherwise it can be difficult to keep connections stable and available at all times.
For a server device, I’d go so far as to disable any “power saving” settings on the network adapters. Because if they are asleep, it can take several tries from the outside to even make them register data at all.
If the clients only send the message “movie finished” once, this could get lost.
I’d also peruse the settings of your router and/or the online account settings of your ISP. See if they provide some advanced configuration with an “internet filter” of some sort. These things tend to be pre-configured for the typical “home user”, who doesn’t have any sort of server running at home. Their default settings could prevent proper function of Plex server in some way.
huh interesting. I know wireless is less preferable, but I have had zero issues with anything relating to performance. It is odd that a simple issue with this would be chalked up to that
I will poke around my router settings its xfinity which is really annoying and featureless in order to port forward I had to do some boof method on their app. I just checked and network adapter settings are on high performance with nothing asleep or anything
I really don’t think wifi has anything to do with this issue. That just would make zero sense. I have a 300 down 50 up connection and have had no problems streaming for myself while away from home for myself and a handful of friends.
This is a common issue due to a bug in the server code

so after watching from some friend’s servers you are right those update just fine its my own that doesn’t work
Server version 1.41.3.9276-8f15273fb fixed the issue for me. Post your logs to that thread if you’re still seeing issues.
