I just got a problem with watch together, worked fine yesterday and for months before that.
It started with me being unable to send invites via the Android TV App. It immediately started the episode instead of waiting for the invitee to join. Same when I tried to invite while already watching the episode.
So I took the problem to Plex Web for better debugging capabilities. I found the same issue. After the initial invite it jumps straight to playback (the lobby is visible for a brief second). Opening developer tools and trying to invite while playback already running revealed an HTTP 400 Error on together.plex.tv:
This was reproducible multiple times and independent of whom I try to invite.
At the beginning of my debug session I was on Plex Server Version 1.22.x (don’t know anymore as I updated as a troubleshooting step), the current version is 1.23.1.4571-6000 on a Synology DiskStation. In the log of the servers are no errors that point to a mistake there, so I haven’t appended it. Happy to so if needed.
Is there an error on Plex end or is there something I can do?
I’d say there’s a problem with Plex… I’m using latest server version (linux) and client version (iOS), I can go through the motions of the “Watch Together” process, but after selecting someone and clicking invite… nothing.
It just starts the media content for myself (and doesn’t invite any users) and insists I have a Watch Together party on my own
Exact same issue here running Plex on Windows. It was working fine late last night, now when I attempt to initiate a Watch Together session it just starts playing automatically for only myself while the other party never receives the invite.
The team was able to deploy a fix to mitigate the issue that was causing these problems. You’re welcome to try again now. Apologies for the inconvenience!
