If anyone is still looking for a method to return Unwatched Episode counts, you have two options (I’m using a NVIDIA Shield Pro):

  1. Install the latest Plex app beta version 10.18.0.939. This returns Unwatched Episode counters but also includes Completed checkmarks, both of which are tied to the same setting. It’s both or nothing
    OR
  2. Downgrade to Plex version 10.15.1, and disable Auto App Updates for your device’s App Store. This version keeps the orange rectangle for the unwatched episode counts.

I personally downgraded to 10.15.1 and will stay on it until the newer client apps are able to customize unwatched episode counters and completion checkmarks separately.
