Server Version#: 1.15.2.793 (maybe happened with previous update)
Went to watch a show two nights ago and was surprised to find that all but the most recent episode had been deleted. Last night went to look at other shows and found that all old episodes had been deleted too. I’ve never set Plex to auto-delete episodes after watching, and have confirmed that this is still the case. When Plex does delete an episode, is that activity shown in the log files? I searched the contents of the log directory for “delete” and only found “failed to delete session.”
I took an update this morning via my phone, but this would have started after the update from earlier in the week. Not sure if it is related, but to my knowledge it is the only thing that has changed in my environment.
Then it wasn’t Plex on its own, who deleted those files.
Have you checked that the files are actually gone from the media storage? (i.e. use a file manager and not Plex to look at the folders.)
You are aware that you can also delete files with an explicit command from many Plex clients?
Do you share your Plex account with other users, who are not aware that they are actually deleting the media files, when they use the ‘Delete’ command?
