It seems ludicrous that I can’t enjoy my content without an active Internet connection. Whether on the rare occasion my ISP is down, or if I wanted to take my laptop with Plex elsewhere with no connection, it is frustrating that files store locally still require an active online connection.
I understand Chromecast requires the Internet to load its apps, but it is frustrating that the Apple TV and PlayStation 4 (and, I presume, Xbox) apps will not play files on my LAN. It detracts a lot from Plex’s value.
