If I enable hw video transcode, the subtitles don’t show. If I disable hw video transcode, the subtitles are shown but the video stutters every few seconds.
How can I get subtitles for live TV with hw video transcode on the NVIDIA Shield TV Pro?
The same stream on Synology NAS appears as follows, with subtitles as ‘Unknown (Closed Captions)’ instead of ‘Unknown (EIA_608)’ with the Shield:

Note : In cases where content requires that subtitles be burned in (common for PGS or VOBSUB subtitles and sometimes required for other subtitle formats in some Plex apps), it is not possible to use hardware encoding. That means that the transcoding must be done by the CPU, which may be slower.
Does this apply to live TV?
